Carnations
the pink and red color exemplify love.  The red carnation with its spicey fragrance brings to our remembrance the Crucifixion and Christ's "love unto death".  But, the name "carnation" also reminds us of the Incarnation of Christ that occurred at the Annunciation, when the Holy Spirit overshadowed His Blessed Mother.
