RED POPPY

was claimed in an old legend to have sprung up at the foot of the Cross from Jesus' redemptive shed blood.  It's not impossible that it could have because today red poppies color many hillsides in the Holy Land during spring and early summer.  Mary stood near the foot of the Cross and beheld Our Savior.
