Mary Gardens and
Flowers for Our Lady

Christian flower symbolism, with origins in the books of Wisdom and the Prophetic books of the Bible, was very early applied to Mary by the Church Fathers.  In time, flowers of Our Lady came to symbolize many aspects of Mary's life, virtues, and mysteries. Christians enjoyed beholding these Marian flowers in nature and would gaze upon them in prayer and meditation.
