A photo of the altar in St. James Church in Medjugorje. A place where Mary appeared to Ivan, a visionary, when circumstances prohibited him from climbing Apparition Hill. Located behind St. James Church. This cross is known to extrude (miraculous) oil from the knees. A group of boys carry another boy, not able to make the climb, down Cross Mountain. This is the parish church of Fr. Jozo Zovko in Siroki Brijeg about an hour from Medjugorje. Fr. Jozo continues to speak to pilgrims here. A photo of the rocky climb to the place of the first Apparitions. This cross built in 1933 by the parishioners of Medjugorje stands to commerate 1900 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. A stone marker over the place where Fr. Slavko Barbaric died on November 24, 2001. A photo of the inside of St. James Church before Holy Mass. This statue was placed where Our Blessed Mother first appeared to the children on June 24, 1981. On the side altar in St. James Church is this beautiful statue. It is reported that Our Lady appeared to the visionaries here on a couple of occasions. This statue is in the home chapel of Ivan, one of the visionaries. This painting hangs in the Conference Hall behind St. James Church. According to the six visionaries, this portrait is the best resemblance to Our Lady that they have seen painted. Holy Mass is celebrated outdoors behind St. James Church when there are large crowds expected during the summer months. On a path to Medjugorje through a vineyard field, some of the local women hang handmade goods for sale to support their families. Praying the rosary while climbing Apparition Hill, we stop at a marker of one of the Joyful Mysteries. While climbing Cross Mountain (Mt. Krizevac), we pray the Stations of the Cross. Here, a marker at the Twelveth Station, depicts the Crucifixion of Our Lord. One of the visionaries who still receives daily apparitions speaks to the pilgrims outside her home. One of the many vineyards surrounding Medjugorje.
